Strong biotech council; hospital monopolies; new Democratic governor not a M4A supporter (but as Attorney General did successfully prosecute several Private Equity abuses in healthcare); no Repub. supporters

Goals for SP movement in CA 2025-2026

Continue to work with state legislators to develop and promote health care reform legislation at the state level.

Advocate to federal Congresspeople to co-sponsor the State-based Universal Health Care Act to be introduced in July 2025. Rep. Cherfilus McCormick co-sponsored HR6270 in 2023; we are working with her and other colleagues to cosponsor this one, especially the four that are original co-sponsors on the 2025 M4A bill H 3069. introduced by Rep. Jayapal- Frost, Cherfilus-McCormick, Frankel, and Wilson.

We will continue to put on virtual monthly meetings with guest speakers and to be tabling at events in different parts of the state to encourage Floridians to sign our Medicare for All petition.

Shorter-term initiatives

We will continue to put on virtual monthly meetings with guest speakers and to be tabling at events in different parts of the state to encourage Floridians to sign our Medicare for All petition.
